OOTD | Effortlessly Cool

Black and white. My two favourite colours when it comes to fashion.

As i've been picking up bits and bobs for my A/W wardrobe, I've noticed that all I seem to be buying are simple, understated, black and white pieces. I think thats a great combination to go for if you want to look effortlessly cool, especially if you want to take a new direction with your style but don't know where to start. Basically, what i'm trying to say is, you can never go wrong with black and white!

Rome | The Outfit Round-Up

When abroad, especially if it's hot, my style takes on a very minamalistic and basic approach. While some girls can look amazing in flowy kimono's, beaded blazers and sequinned studded mini dresses, its all too fussy for me in the blazing heat! Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be one of those women who can strut down the street in all white with strappy heels looking as chic as ever - but when it comes to holidays, comfort takes priority for me!

Even though these outfits are very basic and not hugely inspirational, I hope you enjoy scrolling through nonetheless!

A TRIP TO ROME

Last week I was lucky enough to be treated to a trip to Rome with my lovely boyfriend! I had the best time and definitely wasn't ready to come home! Rome is the most spectacular city I have ever visited - it was incredible to look one way and see modern architecture and department stores and then flip your head around and see buildings that are over 2000 years old...right in the same street!!

As well as soaking up all the culture the city had to offer, my favourite thing about the trip was the FOOD! I'm not ashamed to admit that not a day went past that I didn't eat pasta! Thats right, pasta 7 nights in a row, and I don't regret a thing! Typically we'd go out to eat around 8pm and then wander around until we found the nearest gelato shop (which wasn't hard seeing as there was one on every corner!) then stroll back to our hotel, stopping off at different Piazza's on the way to take in the sights. Bliss!

Everything about the trip was amazing. I feel so lucky to have been able to visit one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I've only just got home and i'm already desperate to go back...

♡Homeware Wishlist♡

Now, I don't know about you, but I am OBSESSED with changing up my room! Ever since discovering Bethany Mota and LaurDIY on Youtube, I have bundles of ideas and I am constantly inspired to switch up my room decor.

During spring/summer I love to surround myself with bright and pastel colours- light, fresh and very girly! Whereas during the autumn/winter months I much prefer warmer tones and cosier accessories.

Above are the items that I am dying to get my hands on to spice up my room this season. I added a few kitchenware items as I couldn't resist the heard shaped bowls and glass milk bottles I discovered on notonthehighstreet.com. I hope you enjoy browsing my wish list and all of the items pictured are linked below.

♡Life as a Kurt Geiger Intern + Vlogging?♡

WHERE HAVE I BEEN?!?!?!!?!?!?

OK I know i've been a HORRENDOUS "blogger" for the past 2 months but I have good reason! As you may or may not know I have been interning down in London at Kurt Geiger for the past 6 weeks - and the internet connection where I was staying was an absolute JOKE and I just didn't have the patience for it! So instead of 6 mini weekly round ups like I was planning on posting, you're getting one mammoth post now that I am home and have amazing, fast speed internet!

My experience down in London was 134562138284256 times better than I ever thought it would be and the day I had to board my flight back to Scotland was a sad one! It wasn't until coming home and hearing "so, how was it?" by every.single.member of my family and friends that I realised how much fun I actually had!

Getting the opportunity to work for Kurt Geiger was incredible, and my job was pretty exciting too! I was in charge of sample requests, meaning if a magazine or stylist needed some KG's, I was your gal! I'm not going to lie, I did have to pinch myself a few times when replying to emails from the likes of Vogue and Elle. I MEAN I WAS TALKING TO VOGUE!!! My favourite week of all HAD to be the week of the Brits. I was never off the phone, talking to everyone and anyone who wanted their celebrity in Kurt Geiger. I spoke to ONE DIRECTIONS stylist and even sent shoes to Beyonce. MADNESS!!

Other daily duties involved sorting out all the press coverage we received. The office was so relaxed that I could enjoy a wee cup of tea whilst flicking through pretty much every single glossy magazine available on the market to see if we had been featured. It barely felt like working!

Another highlight was sneaking down to the showroom taking a peak at all of next seasons collection. It looks FABULOUS!! I definitely had to restrain myself from trying everything on!

Amidst liaising with Vogue, trying on shoes and flicking through magazines, I did actually have to do big girl jobs like competitive analysis and compiling coverage reports, but with music always playing in the office and an endless supply of tea and snacks from the vending machine, it wasn't so bad!

Weekends in the capital were perfect! With most of my closest friends all down in London doing placements as well, there was never a dull moment! All of us living in the same building was a bonus because there wasn't one single moment when I felt lonely - which is something I imagined I would in such a big city! We made the most of our days off by spending them together as a group - shopping, exploring and finding AMAZING places to eat! Brick Lane market and Shoreditch were definitely my favourite places. I could spend hours milling around the stalls, eating great food, and finding fun little cocktail bars to relax in in the evenings!

I could go on and on about how amazing my experience was and I'd give everything to go back and do it all again! Chrissy, Carley, Asya, Sara, Pascale...if you're reading this, thanks so much again for this incredible opportunity and thank you so much for my leaving gift! I've received so many compliments!!

I hope you've all enjoyed reading about my time in London, I'm so sad its over but am so grateful to have done what I've done! I vlogged the whole time I was down there so click the link below to check out week 1's adventures!

Did a lot of haulin' in LDN so expect a TON of reviews/outfit posts/other girly ramblings over the next few weeks!

Stay classy,

♡ Life Update: Uni // New Hair // Moving to London ♡

So, i've been a super bad blogger lately, but I've had exams and coursework and all that boring stuff that has to take priority in life (boo!) but i'm back and I thought what better way to get the ball rolling than to share some exciting things that have been happening so far in 2014!

Firstly, if you follow me on any other form of social media, you may know I went through a bit of a hair change! Although I LOVE being blonde, I wanted to try something a little different for the new year! So i'm now...ginger? Well, not entirely, I'm not exactly sure what colour my hair is! Sort of browny, coppery, gingery, blondy, ombre-y? It took a bit of getting used to at first, but I think i'm finally starting to like it! I think it looks a lot softer and a lot more natural.

Now that i'm in 3rd year of university, everything is 1456277894327651237 times harder than it was when I was a baby first year!! This semester has turned out to be the most challenging so far and has caused many tears, breakdowns and the weekly "that's it! i'm dropping out!" tantrums! However, all of the hard work and slaving away in the library has paid off as last week I got some pretty exciting news...

It is a requirement as part of my course (BA HONS Fashion Management) that all students undertake a placement in 3rd year. We have a placement officer within the uni that helps us contact companies and try to arrange placements/internships. However, being the strong, independent woman that I am, I decided to go it alone and try to organise my own placement with the company I currently work for. And lo and behold, I did it! I've managed to bag myself an internship in the PR department at Kurt Geiger's Head Office down in London! IN LONDON!! So at the end of this month, i'll be packing up my life and moving down to the capital for a total of 10 weeks! I am so over the moon and so thankful to KG for this opportunity! I am honestly still in shock and so overwhelmed at the fact I am making my dreams come true (yuck that was so cheesy but it had to be said!) So yeah, thats the goss! I will be updating my blog regularly and perhaps even trying my hand at some vlogging while down having lots of adventures in LDN!!

But for now...I'm off to eat some soup and watch One Direction's movie because I have the worst cold on the face of the planet and my nose is so red I genuinely could be Rudolph!!
