OOTD | Effortlessly Cool

Black and white. My two favourite colours when it comes to fashion.

As i've been picking up bits and bobs for my A/W wardrobe, I've noticed that all I seem to be buying are simple, understated, black and white pieces. I think thats a great combination to go for if you want to look effortlessly cool, especially if you want to take a new direction with your style but don't know where to start. Basically, what i'm trying to say is, you can never go wrong with black and white!

FOTD | Cheryl Cole Bronze Smokey Eye

X Factor season has crept up on us once again and the only thing I can think about whilst watching the thousands of hopefuls sing their hearts out, in search for their 15 minutes of fame (or five years of fame if you're One Direction), is how absolutely INCREDIBLE Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (Cole) looks! Her makeup has been looking stunning recently but the one look that really caught my eye was the smokey bronze "cut crease" look she was sporting on Saturday night. I decided to attempt a slightly more toned down version of her makeup but if you wanted the full on Cheryl look- some falsies and some black shadow will do the trick!

The most stand out part of Cheryl's look was her very defined cut crease. I created this by applying brown eyeliner (use black for a stronger, smokier look) right on the crease of my eye and blending to create a soft but very prominent and defined crease. I applied a soft brown transition colour above this, working towards my brow bone, and smoking out the outer corners of my eye with a deep, rich brown eyeshadow. I then applied a mix of MAC's "Woodwinked" and "Naked Lunch" on my lids and smoked out some brown liner on my lower lash line and water line. Again, you could use black for a more dramatic look. Next it was liquid liner, mascara and a cream coloured shadow on my brow bone to highlight et voila! Eyes are complete!!

To finish off my face I contoured my cheekbones, bronzed up my skin and added a pink lipstick with slight orange undertones.

And there we go, my take on the signature Cheryl smokey eye! Now I understand if my above ramblings were hard to follow, so I added in some pictures below showing step-by-step how to complete the look!

I hope you enjoyed this quick little demo and do let me know if you try this out for yourself!

What's In My Bag | The Everyday Edition

Glasses - Rayban // Foundation stick - Bobbi Brown // Lipgloss - Tanya Burr // Perfume - Jo Malone
8hr Cream- Elizabeth Arden // Dry shampoo - Batiste // Phone and card holder - Michael Kors //Purse - Kurt Geiger // Iphone 4s // Sunglasses - Topshop

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream: Ladies, if you haven't heard of this god send then where have you been?!?! Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Skin Protectant is a skincare classic, praised by beauty editors, makeup artists and models, that helps to restore, calm and relieve chapped, cracked and dry skin. But that's not all it can do! This little gem has a multitude of uses - lip balm, eyebrow tamer, hair treatment, moisturiser, highlighter...the list goes on! I adore this product so much that it has earned a permanent spot in my handbag! It smells a bit funky but is nonetheless still a staple in my beauty regimen.

Jo Malone Perfume in "Blackberry and Bay": Anybody who knows me knows that this is my scent! It is the only perfume that I haven't got sick of and can wear confidently all year round! It's got a sweetness that's perfect for the summer months and a warmth that works well in the winter. Staying power isn't amazing- so I be sure to keep a 30ml size in my bag to top up throughout the day.

Michael Kors Phone Case: This was a treat from my boyfriend which has turned into a handbag staple. It fits my phone in perfectly as well as having a pocket for loose change and slots to fit your most used cards. This is great for keeping my bag neat but also great to grab if i'm just nipping to the shops..or the chippy, if I don't want to bring a huge bag out with me!

Batiste Dry Shampoo: A fab pick me up for dull/flat hair throughout the day! Also great for carrying around to combat "second day hair!"

Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick: I'm a huge fan of Bobbi's Long Wear Even Finish Foundation which claims to last 12 hours, but most definitely doesn't (perhaps because my skin is more on the oiler side), so this little stick is perfect for touch ups throughout the day.

Tanya Burr Lipgloss "Chic": My favourite gloss from her collection. This colour goes great with any makeup look so is perfect for keeping in my bag instead of bringing 12 different lipsticks/glosses out with me daily!

Kurt Geiger Purse: This was actually gifted to me by the lovely ladies from the Kurt Geiger Press department after completing my internship with them. It's a lovely little reminder of what I achieved and how much fun I had down in London working for them!

Topshop Sunnies: My inner diva always needs sunnies! Because who says sunglasses are only for summer...

Rayban Glasses: Because I really should wear them all the time but forget so they live in my bag.

Iphone 4s: My life source!

Rome | The Outfit Round-Up

When abroad, especially if it's hot, my style takes on a very minamalistic and basic approach. While some girls can look amazing in flowy kimono's, beaded blazers and sequinned studded mini dresses, its all too fussy for me in the blazing heat! Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be one of those women who can strut down the street in all white with strappy heels looking as chic as ever - but when it comes to holidays, comfort takes priority for me!

Even though these outfits are very basic and not hugely inspirational, I hope you enjoy scrolling through nonetheless!

Last week I was lucky enough to be treated to a trip to Rome with my lovely boyfriend! I had the best time and definitely wasn't ready to come home! Rome is the most spectacular city I have ever visited - it was incredible to look one way and see modern architecture and department stores and then flip your head around and see buildings that are over 2000 years old...right in the same street!!

As well as soaking up all the culture the city had to offer, my favourite thing about the trip was the FOOD! I'm not ashamed to admit that not a day went past that I didn't eat pasta! Thats right, pasta 7 nights in a row, and I don't regret a thing! Typically we'd go out to eat around 8pm and then wander around until we found the nearest gelato shop (which wasn't hard seeing as there was one on every corner!) then stroll back to our hotel, stopping off at different Piazza's on the way to take in the sights. Bliss!

Everything about the trip was amazing. I feel so lucky to have been able to visit one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I've only just got home and i'm already desperate to go back...

♡Homeware Wishlist♡

Now, I don't know about you, but I am OBSESSED with changing up my room! Ever since discovering Bethany Mota and LaurDIY on Youtube, I have bundles of ideas and I am constantly inspired to switch up my room decor.

During spring/summer I love to surround myself with bright and pastel colours- light, fresh and very girly! Whereas during the autumn/winter months I much prefer warmer tones and cosier accessories.

Above are the items that I am dying to get my hands on to spice up my room this season. I added a few kitchenware items as I couldn't resist the heard shaped bowls and glass milk bottles I discovered on notonthehighstreet.com. I hope you enjoy browsing my wish list and all of the items pictured are linked below.
